Therapy Should Be Responsive to Your Unique Needs and Lived Experience
Our approach recognizes the complex interplay between individual and societal factors as they impact our physical and mental health. We work to support clients as they navigate the complexities of the medical and mental health system, and our therapists provide referrals and work collaboratively with outside service providers. This holistic and collaborative approach sets us apart from many other practices.
As Attune & Embody's founder, my work with clients and the clinical supervision I provide to therapists and support staff is informed by my own lived experiences of chronic illness, and the work I have done professionally, in the area of medical-related trauma. This includes consultation or supervision for other clinicians and presenting at professional conferences. Please visit our website (http://www.attune-embody.com/our-team) to view my full CV.
While pain may be inevitable in life, the extent to which we suffer as a result of it is influenced by our perceptions, the effectiveness of our coping strategies, and the ability to make meaning from our experiences.
As therapists, we each bring our specific experience and expertise to the table. Our relational approach is often helpful for people with histories of trauma or loss in their families of origin. We bring a trans-inclusive feminist and existential lens to the work, as we explore and re-examine personal narratives of freedom, interpersonal relationships, and the many joys and challenges of living in a human body.
